JANESVILLE, WI—February 10, 2009—Prent Corporation, the leading global producer of thermoform packaging for the medical, pharmaceutical and other industries, was recently awarded a 2008 WorldStar award in the Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging category from the World Packaging Organization (WPO).
The WorldStar went to Prent Corporation for the “Introducer TS Tray” for St. Paul, Minnesota-based St. Jude Medical, a well-respected manufacturer of cardiac and vascular products.
The St. Jude “Introducer TS Tray” holds and protects a new consolidated cardiac product to help physicians control and simplify access to the left atrium during complex cardiac procedures. Short and long tray versions are in the product line.
The WPO honors the best-of-the-best in packaging—from consumer to industrial—from around the world. A package must have previously won a major packaging competition to be considered. WPO judging this year was held October 14-16 in Cape Town, South Africa.
Prent Corporation was the only US company winning a 2008 WorldStar in the Pharmaceutical & Medical category. This is Prent’s 12th WorldStar Award in the past 15 years.
